What is Carfax?

A CARFAX certificate protects us and you from buying pre-owned cars with costly hidden problems. The CARFAX guarantees and protects you when buying a pre-owned car, making sure there has been no salvage, fire and/or flood damage, odometer problems or problems with the history.

CARFAX is used by millions of professionals and consumers for cars built after 1981. The CARFAX Report is generated from a database with more than five billion records. Some types of information which a CARFAX Report can include are:

Title information, including:

  • Salvaged or junked titles
  • Flood damage history

  • Odometer readings
  • Lemon history
  • Number of owners
  • Accident indicators, such as airbag deployments
